2027 Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge Quilt Kit

Join thousands of quilters for the 2027 Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge! Beginning in January 2027, Riley Blake Designs will release free quilt block patterns throughout the challenge, allowing you to create this beautiful 76" × 76" sampler quilt one block at a time.

The official Confetti Cottons Warm colorway was designed by the Riley Blake Designs team and is shown in the finished quilt image.

But why stop at one?

As in previous years, Cat's Cuts will be offering several alternative colorways for the 2027 Block Challenge, giving you the opportunity to choose a palette that better reflects your own style.

Our planned Confetti Cottons options include:

• Warm — RBD Original
• Cool Confetti Cottons
• Moody Confetti Cottons
• Rainbow Confetti Cottons

And there are more to come!

Because the individual 2027 Block Challenge patterns have not yet been released to quilt shops, we cannot create completely accurate digital renderings of the alternative versions just yet. Rather than show you an approximation that may not accurately represent the finished quilt, we'll add our alternative quilt renderings after the block patterns become available and we can recreate the designs accurately.

For colorways without a finished quilt image, the fabric or fat quarter bundle image shows the actual color palette planned for that version of the quilt.

Additional colorways are also being considered and may be added as we test and finalize our selections.

A Special Quilt in Color Collaboration

We're especially excited to be collaborating with Christa Watson of Christa Quilts on another 2027 Block Challenge version featuring her new Quilt in Color collection for Riley Blake Designs!

Quilt in Color is scheduled to arrive in November 2026, so this colorway will be added as the collection becomes available. If you have your eye on this version, use the Notify Me When Available option so you'll know when it's ready to order.

What's Included

Each Cat's Cuts 2027 Block Challenge kit includes all of the fabric needed to make the 76" × 76" quilt top, including borders and binding.

Backing fabric is not included.

The individual block patterns are provided FREE by Riley Blake Designs as part of the 2027 Block Challenge and will be released according to Riley Blake Designs' Block Challenge schedule.

About Our Alternative Colorways

Our alternative versions aren't simply random fabric substitutions. Each colorway is carefully planned so that the fabrics used in the original design are replaced consistently throughout the quilt, preserving the contrast, color movement and balance that make the individual blocks work together.

As soon as the 2027 block patterns become available to shops, we'll begin creating accurate digital quilt previews for our alternative colorways and add them to this listing.

Because different fabric collections have different wholesale price points, kit prices may vary by colorway.

We'll continue updating this listing with additional colorways, fabric photographs and finished-quilt previews as they become available.
